1950s Nickel Plated Brass Copy Plates

Engraving is an art as much as it is a science and over the last 50 years it has evolved from the bulky mechanical hand-operated pantograph to utilization of computerized cutters and specialized software for layout and manufacturing. The copy plates in the attached photo were both hand engraved by Dura in the late 1950s and then re-used as templates for subsequent plate engraving.
